JULY’S FILTER COFFEE GUEST

We are thrilled to announce that our next guest coffee is from The Barn who expert coffee roasters from Berlin!

The Barn is one of the most recognised speciality coffee roasters in Europe and they’re all about quality! Their uncompromising dedication to quality means that they work only with small batches of premium coffees. Making the coffee they produce fresh and in season.

The Barn takes great focus on sustainability and economic sustainability. They work closely with the coffee farms they source from to ensure that their crops don’t have a negative impact on the environment; they believe that education around agronomy is most essential.

The Barn also believes in paying fair prices to farmers. Fair prices don’t just cover costs, but also allow for investment back into the farm and the community. The Barn often pays multiple times the Fair Trade price for quality coffees.

On top of all that, The Barn makes a promise to the farmers they work with, and that is, that their coffees will be roasted to highlight the diverse taste properties of their crop.

The Coffee:

Name: Edido

This coffee may be an espresso roast but it works brilliantly on filter too! For the second year in a row, the Barn is starting their Ethiopian season with this stunning coffee from Yirgacheffe. Edido is a private washing station in the Aricha region. It has rich soil and pristine forest, combined with a high elevation and a strong coffee-growing culture form the perfect recipe for some of the greatest coffee in the world. The washed coffee has notes of sweet nectarine, honeysuckle, jasmine, black tea and milk chocolate. The silky body and a lovely acidity balance out the taste experience of this cup.

If you really like what you’re drinking you can always buy a bag to take home, so when you can’t make it to your local Sourced Market, you can still have an extraordinary cuppa at home.

Our guest coffee is only available at our Victoria, Marleybone and St Pancras Markets
