Adam Vanni came to London in 2015 with the mission of putting kombucha on the map. Impressed by his energy and pure dedication, we jumped at the chance to join the fermented tea revolution.

What is kombucha? A few years ago, we’d have asked the same question…

But then we met Adam, who told us all about the flavoured fermented tea he was brewing. Directly sourcing the best organic ingredients, Adam and his team had blended a nutritious, living drink, packed full of naturally occurring probiotics, antioxidants and vitamins. With its proven health benefits, kombucha was fast becoming an appealing alternative to sugary soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

The idea for Jarr bubbled to the surface when Adam was still living in Los Angeles. Noting that kombucha was largely unheard of in Europe, he and his friends made the brave decision to open a tap room at Crate Brewery in Hackney.

The three zingy flavours were such a success, Adam decided to bottle them.

What happened next 

When it comes to trends, we know time is of the essence. That’s why we were one of the first retailers to bring Jarr Kombucha’s bottles to market. Since launching the product across our three locations, we’ve seen a great response from our customers – be they early birds in need of a morning boost or discerning partygoers after a unique cocktail mixer.

We also wanted our customers to experience Adam’s extensive knowledge firsthand. So we hosted a Masterclass at our Marylebone site where kombucha newbies could take part in an expert-led tea tasting session.

With sales of kombucha very much on the rise, Jarr has now released a smaller version of their eye-catching bottle. You’ll find these in our markets from February 2017!
