Lop pigs reared on Norton Barton farm are the secret to great tasting rillette from award winning Cornish Charcuterie.
The pork rillette from Cornish Charcuterie is made from lop pigs that are born and reared on their farm in Norton Barton, Cornwall. The pork is slow poached in duck fat, shredded and lightly seasoned to enhance the flavour of the meat. Their rillette won Best in Category at Taste of the West Awards 2013.
A delicious variation of their award winning Pork Rillette is the sloe gin pork rillette, a healthy slug of locally produced sloe gin is added for an unusually sweet and juicy rillette.
Vegetarians needn’t be disgruntled as Cornish Charcuterie have produced a delicious rich nubbly Mushroom Pate with Chilli and Coriander; there’s nothing bland about this one! You don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy it either.
All three rillettes are perfectly accompanied by their range of Popti savoury biscuits which are hand made on the farm. Popti Cornish Bakehouse is a joint venture between Cornish Charcuterie and Made With Love. Popti are delighted to have been chosen as a winner of the First Great Western Producer Award 2015.
